Where do you get the best views of Manhattan? The Chart House.

And we're back! In New Jersey that is. One downside to actually living in Manhattan is that you never really get any good views of it. In addition to Brooklyn, Long Island City etc, you may be surprised to know that some of the best views of the sparkling New York City skyline is from the Jersey area. Lucky for manhattanites without cars, there's a ferry stop right by one of my favorite restaurants in the Jersey hood, The Chart House-http://www.chart-house.com. This place has it ALL! The food is phenomenal. They have super fresh and creative seafood dishes, great steaks, and a nice wine list with fantastic cocktails. Their ridiculous spinach salad with warm bacon dressing is made table-side (I could just go for this alone) & the service has always been stellar. These are clearly enough reasons to go to any restaurant, but to top it all off, they have the BEST views of Manhattan (see my Insta pic below). The Chart House is a must visit if you're in the NYC/NJ area. It's a beautiful place for special occasions, to bring visitors and even to just enjoy a drink  & the view at the bar. The Chart House is basically one big window looking out on the spectacular Manhattan skyline. They do take reservations but make them in advance if possible. Be sure to request a table by the window & save room for dessert (get the Lava Cake!!!)...

My amazing spinach salad with warm bacon dressing. It's HUGE and can easily be shared for a table of 2 or 3 people.

One must save room for this-Their signature Hot Chocolate Lava Cake. You need to put the order in early as it takes 30 minutes to prepare this chocolatey goodness. Like the aforementioned salad, it's HUGE and can (and should) be shared.

Breathtaking...

  1. I worked at the Chart House in Weehawken for 8 years. I had to leave due to medical problems. :( I would eat there every night if I could. Is and always has been my favorite restaurant. (And I am pretty picky!) You have to try this restaurant, I KNOW you will be hooked.
